As the car theme is basically a must when coming to Stuttgart – Here the car has been invented!
And which company has build the first car in the world? Mercedes Benz! At their headquarters in Stuttgart Bad Cannstatt, the famous car manufacturer has built an amazing museum and visitor centre. The sensational building has a total area of approx. 17.000 sqm, showing around 160 vehicles on permanent display, including not only the earliest models but also the latest series production vehicles.
A 75min guided tour will show the highlights of the collection. Thereafter guests will have still enough time to visit the Mercedes Benz museum on their own, as well as the attached huge shop – or even the Mercedes Benz dealership which is located next door.
(Please note: Museum cannot be visited on a Monday as it’s closed on that day!)

Experience: The perfect 2nd part of a „car day“ programme in Stuttgart:
A 2h visit of the main Mercedes benz plant in Sindelfingen – approx. 30mins away from Stuttgart.
The guided tour of the largest Mercedes-Benz plant in the world gives a detailed insight into the fascinating world of automobile production: The tour begins in the press shop, where the body parts are given their shape, continues with the ballet performance of the robots in the body shop and ends in the assembly shop, where the bodyshell and powertrain are married together. In the logistics ’supermarket‘ you can see how vehicle components are fed to the assembly lines, in part by two driverless transport systems named ‚Bertha‘ and ‚Gottlieb’.
Most impressive after all: How logistics and production work hand in hand so that exactly the right components are available along the production line to be built exactly into the car they belong to. Just amazing!
(Please note: Plant tour is NOT possible on weekend days and public holidays)

Experience: Here is our excursion suggestion for this day: When travelling to Stuttgart, a trip into the Black Forest, south of the city, should not be missed. During this full day tour, we want to show a fairly nice and impressive corner of the region. First stop will be the small town of Alpirsbach in the more northern parts of the Black Forest. Very well known for a huge monastery right in the centre. Monks always have known how to eat and drink and have therefore founded their own brewery, “Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu”. During a guided show around through museum and brewery, we want to show the secrets of brewing a traditional German beer to the group. Of course, a tasting is not to be missed and guests will also receive a beer mug as commemorative gift. The visit will be finished with a hearty lunch at one of the brewery restaurants, for example the “Löwen-Post”.
The tour will then take guests to the town of Triberg. When people tell you they are going to go „visit the Black Forest“, chances are pretty good they mean they are heading to Triberg. In a region that is laden with tourist attractions, there is none that compares to this small city in the center of the Black Forest. After all, it has just about everything — the tallest waterfall in Germany, the largest collection of Black Forest-related souvenirs and wood products for sale, and the world’s biggest cuckoo clock nearby.
Few if any other locations in the forest garner so much attention. But for all the tourist kitsch, Triberg is worth the visit. It is simply a beautiful place, and its unique attractions are must-sees. The most important we want to show to the group: Germany’s tallest waterfalls and, a synonyme for Germany and the Black Forest: The cuckoo clock!
The group will visit at least a shop, and if time allows, also a factory. For example the one of Hubert Herr, where the clocks are still produced with manual skills.
Lunch will be held in a nice restaurant enroute.
It’s then back to Stuttgart on the Black Forest high road, with panoramic views onto the beautiful landscape.
